Steve Salmen founded Remarkable Journeys in 2002 after a long and successful career in Sales and Sales Management. Having traveled extensively for business and leisure for 28 years, Steve recognized both the opportunity and the necessity for a travel agency that would support travel planning for busy professionals.

Being a busy executive striving to balance his person and professional lives, Steve translated his personal experiences into a solution for other busy professionals. The result is a travel agency that combines a high level of service with customized, detailed planning, and destination expertise. This “concierge” approach breaks the traditional model of a travel agency and creates a unique travel provider to our clients, many of whom have re-discovered the life-enhancing benefits of travel.

Tom Kozlak

Managing Partner, The Golf Group

Tom Kozlak has a family background in the hospitality industry, and has spent his career in that tradition. As an avid golfer, Tom founded The Golf Group in 1998 after recognizing that he could use this experience to create better golf trips. Having been the travel arranger for numerous group and individual golfing vacations and competitions, Tom decided to pursue his love for the game into a career.

Today, The Golf Group has developed a reputation for detailed planning, flawless execution, and the ability to get tee times at the finest courses in the world. Tom also provides personalized service, and handles each golf trip as if he were going on the trip himself—in fact he probably has been on it already!

Hank Hanten

Managing Partner, Summit Group

Hank Hanten brings over 32 years of travel industry experience to Summit Group, having specialized in the group/incentive travel area for the past 20 years.

Hank has managed and directed programs ranging from executive retreats to back-to-back full wide body charter aircraft sales award programs. His extensive background includes program development and planning, costing, supplier relations/negotiations, on-site operations and servicing.

Hank’s forte is his ability to provide exceptional service and products in the most cost effective manner, assuring the best use of the clients’ resources. Hank directs Summit Group with the philosophy offered by Aristotle centuries ago, “We are what we repeatedly do, excellence is not an act, but a habit.”
